For that matter America might somehow experience a counter-counter-cultural revolution of sorts; a rebounding of ideas which had been discarded in the turbulent 1960s but are nonetheless flush with joy, power, healing and gold for all of humanity. Remember that all tools cut in two opposing ways. If it should take 10 or 20 years to catch on, what matters is that several millions could enjoy a deep love affair with classical, as musicians do. This music can become as accessible and addictive to everyone as their other favorite musics. This should raise long-term concert attendance and renewed support for the industry as a whole when their kids grow up open to classical.

Some believe the only way this can happen is if every grade school student learns a classical instrument. As wonderful as that would be, CutTime doesn’t hold that it is immediately possible (to the previous scale) or entirely necessary. With the increasing wealth of insider information available in all but classical music, we are certain that videos effective at intro-taining classical concepts and methods (the what, why and how) can validate the decades of devotion to craftmanship and the spirit of the art. Real devotion is priestly and beneficent, whether in the sacred service of concerts, or outside the sanctuary, at a church, mall, club or a restaurant. Everyone deserves beautiful music. This is our mission.
The very tricky part of balancing classical is regarding new vs. old music. There’s need, desire & room for both. Contrast is good. Point it out. Some prefer music with graceful, thematic and harmonic dramas, while others prefer edgy, atonal or even random loud noises. CutTime validates most creativity to bridge most to classical for a few minutes. By speaking publicly, interviewing and sharpening our teaching artistry, we can testify about what we believe really matters in music. What practical difference does classical art make in my life? Because music is so personal, we won’t go wrong speaking of our beliefs.
